Not only did Jesus Christ come preaching the Gospel – He was the Gospel.The Gospel of Jesus Christ means Good News. What do you do with news? You announce it, tell it, share it, speak it, write about it.People had been waiting 400 years for this to happen.How many would desperately like to receive Good News today? There is so much bad sad news around. We desperately need Good News in these present times and a quality of news which will last and lift us and even motivate us and inspire us.Is all that possible? Yes, it certainly is and even more so.The Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ is all about what God was doing, and what God has done, and is doing. It is the power of God to save us and rescue us.Jesus spoke to a religious Professor regarding being born again, and this man had not a clue as to what Jesus meant – at least, not to begin with.Jesus was implying that we need new men and women.People need to be washed, cleaned up, empowered and totally transformed.When God pours out His Holy Spirit, people are changed. Their lives are different in so many ways.Aims, interests, goals, hopes, and even the use of money, have a new direction and purpose.God begins to do something new, rather remarkable, and in some cases, quite surprising, as He performs His transforming saving rescuing gracious work, and soon it shows. People notice the difference.Only Jesus Christ can do this.Jesus had come from God, and was one with God, and after His sacrificial work on Calvary’s Cross, shedding His blood to forgive men from their sin, man could now be cleaned up and empowered.Just as God set His people free from slavery in Egypt, Jesus Christ sets people free from sin, if they want to be set free.That is good news. That is the Gospel.We need to know the significance of this truth and this reality.There are many unsung heroes around. These can be men and women who devote themselves to serving others and who have the amazing ability to refresh and encourage others.Is that you?This is what Jesus Christ can make you and this is how Jesus Christ can use you.
